Description
Cotton is one of the main crops that you see as you travel along highways that cut through the rural areas of North Carolina. From a distance, the shape of the Cumulus clouds often seems to mimic the shape of the cotton balls. I have painted this lush harvest-ready cotton field from the perspective of standing in its midst, where the cotton plants are so tall that only the highest part of the farm structures in the distance can be seen. This is the point in the cotton growth cycle where a scenic harmony exists between the earth and sky.
